To Whom it may concern

It is not often I write letters such as this, but in the case of Mike McNulty I believe it is warranted and necessary.  My method of work is to do what is necessary to get the job done and not expect any “pats on the back”.  Mike contacted me and acted as an intermediary in securing a position for me to not only further my career, but to take maximum advantage of my experience and time in the industry.

Finding me a position would have been sufficient since I thought this was his primary function.  In my case, however, he went beyond this function to ensure that the company and I were a good fit for now and the future.  After investigating the position he related to me that he was sure I would excel in a very short period of time and he developed a relationship with me of trust where I believed this as fact.  I have worked in my new capacity for a month and a half (with the Christmas Holidays in-between) and have taken on additional responsibilities not originally outlined in the job description.  I am now instructing and acting as an internal consultant to other departments because of my good fit.

 I do not believe my quick recognition and opportunity for advancement would have happened if Mike had not taken the time to be thorough in matching me with the company and not the position.  He also took time to participate as an outside speaker at a conference that I was involved in organizing.  His presentation and round table discussion helped professionals and recent graduates alike in crystallizing their individual goals in the job hunting arena.
