Basic Interview Tips
- Dress appropriately. Talk with your
recruiter to determine the appropriate dress for
that specific company.
- Address the interviewer with a firm handshake.
- Be punctual. Make sure you know exactly
where you need to go and plan your trip to allow
time to find parking.
- Bring several copies of your resume with you
along with any supporting information necessary for
the interview.
- Emphasize your accomplishments and talk about
how you contributed to helping the company achieve
their goals.
- Avoid "yes" and "no" responses. Answer the
questions fully and provide specific examples and
details.
- Speak clearly and look the interviewer in the
eye.
- Do not make any negative remarks about present
or previous employers.
- Make sure your interviewer knows you are
interested in the job. 'Close' the interviewer by
asking if you answered all of their questions and
what will be the next step in the process.
- Look interested and enthusiastic when you talk .
- Remember to say "Thank You" to the interviewer
and any other person involved in the interview
process.
